Newsletter June 2014

Dear all,

after a pretty chilly month of May I hope we will be able to enjoy some warmer temperatures in June!
This Saturday it will certainly get warmer around here. Not only outside but also in the Kammermusiksaal at the Musikschule in Trier where I will be singing a charity concert for the Kinderschutzbund Trier with the Ben Heit Quartet. It will be a Tribute to the music of Joni Mitchell with some wonderful arrangements from Ben Heit. I've attached the flyer in case you're interested to join us there. Although the entrance is free it's better to reserve a ticket with Elke Boné (elke-bone@arcor.de) to make sure you have a seat. Here you can also find the announcement in the newspaper.

My forthcoming CD with piano player Frank Harrison is slowly "finding its shape" and we're very happy with the result. The last thing we still need to do is find a title for the CD.... On Soundcloud you can already listen to one of the songs: the ballad In the wee small hours of the morning. And I'm thrilled to announce that the CD-release in Luxembourg for the jazzclub will be happening on Saturday 13th December in the Robert Krieps Saal of the Abbaye de Neumünster.

Another upcoming concert that I'm very excited about is the one I will be performing at the Jazz & Blues Ralley in Luxembourg on Saturday 19th July with my new quartet. We will be playing jazz standards from Duke Ellington and Jerome Kern but also tunes from Norah Jones, Van Morrison and KISS! Will be fun! Time and place still need to be confirmed but here you can already find a video from us: Edith van den Heuvel Quartet

Well, that was the most important news for now. Wishing you already a wonderful, sunny weekend and hope to see you at one of my concerts! :-)

Best regards,
Edith
