Newsletter October 2014

Dear all,

it's been a while I've been writing a newsletter so I thought it was about time to give a little update.

My most important focus this year was and still is my upcoming duo CD Beneath the Blue that I've recorded with piano player Frank Harrison in Cologne at Topaz Studios. The making of this album has been an exciting process which has been keeping me busy the last couple of months. At this very moment the CD is in production in the US and I can't wait to see and hear the end result. Pretty exciting, I can tell you! Before the summer I already posted one of the ballads from the album on Soundcloud and this week I've added another one of our favourites which is "Both Sides Now" from Joni Mitchell.

We will be presenting our new album on Saturday 13th December at the Robert Krieps Hall of the Abbaye deNeumünster in Luxembourg-Grund. I'm very happy that the Jazzclub Jail gave us the opportunity to play in this beautiful place (with a great Steinway grand piano) and it would be wonderful to share this occasion with you. The entrance to the concert is free so please feel free to invite all of your friends! :-)

At the moment I'm preparing myself for a completely different project which is a gala concert with the HarmonieMunicipale of Esch-sur-Alzette. The concerts will be taking place on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th November at the theatre of Esch. That will be something completely different and surely a lot of fun singing in quartet. I will also be singing two solo's (in my Andrew Sister costume!) so if you're curious, have a look at the poster or on this website for more info.

Two weeks ago I had a very nice concert with my quartet for the Jazz Initiative Eifel in Bitburg and we had a nice little review in the Trierer Volksfreund. Even though sometimes you play for a small audience it is very rewarding and fulfilling when you see that people are enjoying and appreciating the music. In the end that's what it's all about! And we had a lot of fun as well.

Well, I think that was enough news for now. Thanks for reading my post and I'm wishing you all a wonderful weekend!!

Lots of musical greetings,
Edith
